The online platform dedicated to social protection, knowledge-sharing and capacity-building socialprotection.org was officially launched on 12 September, the UN Day for South-South-Cooperation.
socialprotection.org is an unbranded, free, interactive, member-based collaborative hub. It has been created with the aim of facilitating South-South learning on social protection policies by fostering active and informed networks to share experiences, particularly across middle and low income countries.
The platform is endorsed by the Development Working Group of the G20, financed by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and hosted by the United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth (IPC-IG).
Alicia Spengler, IPC-IG’s Project Analyst of the platform, describes the project as follows:
“The strategy behind the platform is to bridge an important knowledge gap by providing accessible, accurate and up-to-date content on social protection themes, programmes and policies through collaborative and interactive learning tools, contributed by and for the platform’s user.”
SASPEN is proud to be linked to this platform (find a list of all stakeholders here).
